"i thought we had let this thread die. please."

absolutely not. if the mods wanted it to die they would have closed it.

Then I will cancel out his opinion as a former van driver then and say - YES!
Van drivers should be tipped.
Now we can keep the debate going.

I was wondering if another former van driver would disagree with him.😀

No military officer would have to drive vans or uber, and all aviators are officers. But USMCFLYR initially started on the civilian track, so he probably was thin on cash like most at that point.

lolol the average van driver would get extremely defensive with the instructor. I would love to be a fly on the wall of the sim for that.

I heard there were two pilots in the sim who got into a fist fight at envoy. no idea if its true or not.

I'm not going to read the last 68 pages of this thread, but if the driver handles my bags I'll give him a few bucks. If I'm just getting on and getting off without any kind of assistance (and sometimes even have to open/close the door while driver sits in his seat), then no. They aren't paid hospitality wages that are completely reliant on tips like bartenders and restaurant servers are.

Oh, but you would learn so much! 🤣 Actually, I think I did learn a lot about a widely varying group of personalities. 😂

Twenty-four pages.

You may be better off not tipping, if you can't count. No telling how much money you might fork over.

I will judge the f@#$ out of you if you don't tip the van driver for handling your bags. Ohh, and we will not be going out after either. I don't go out with cheap f#@$s

I smell some sense of entitlement here.
Somehow you feel that you can judge me for not sharing your “values”.
