Does anyone know if the street captains are getting CA pay from day 1?

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how they select which aircraft to assign to each new hire? Is it based on total time, knowledge level, or reccomendation by the interviewers?

HR told our class that at first its all random on who can fill class dates. the only reason it could change is if you are applying for a FO position and have or are close to CA mins. then they might put you in the saab. this is only because of the fact that they need CAs. HR said that this dosen't happen all the time. but to answer your question, its based on when your're available and space available for training. minus the one exception. hope it helps... hope i'm right. if i'm wrong feel free to correct me anyone.

I think it is totally random, it would make sense for the more experienced new hires to be assigned to the SAAB due to the short upgrade and the workload compared to the the RJ.

Thanks for the replies, a co-worker of mine was assigned the same class date and he is in the RJ. Curiosity killing the cat I guess. In any event I'm thrilled to be flying the Saab and wouldn't have it any other way. Only wish the basses looked a little more positive.

Three or four day trips or some combination, depending on if you need more training or not. I finished it all up in a three day.
