It might be a wise move for the folks that are on the saab and are low time and want MSP. Depending on how many folks are in line for MSP 900, this might be a fast track to being based in MSP. Young low timers just might need the 2 years to build their time in order to upgrade, thus a 24 month seat lock may not be so bad if it means getting MSP. With the saab appropriately staffed there is likely little movment here.

waive the Saab First Officer Freezes thus allowing Saab First Officers to bid for the 10 CRJ 900 First Officer positions
There goes any seniority I was hoping to accrue! I'll just be happy to still be flying here in the next year or two honestly. I like it here.

new to the bid form page on mymesaba, when i got hired i was 1044 or 1045 on the list, now I am 1040 (first time being listed on the master senority list) but looking at the new vac list, I dont see where we lost 4-5 guys, I count 2, as in 14 less FO's but 12 new captains. So did those other three become Instructors/management? Or more likely they left the company?

Movement... Three or so in the last few months is not much. Anyone heard from the captains they have been flying with that they are thinking about or attempting to go elsewhere now that the flow is seemingly disappearing? Not that there are a lot of places to go right now, but has anybody been sensing a change in the winds about waiting around to flow?

HEY guys their is been a change of policy for per diem for Mesaba new hires, got the email this morning. But im not sure when it will go into effect!! either way it mean more money in new hire pockets!! Lawd knows we need it!!!! check it out

ALPA and management have reached an agreement on how per diem is applied to new hire pilots. After ground school, a new hire pilot will receive per diem for training outside of MSP or his assigned domicile. A new hire pilot will also receive per diem during OE.

Example: A new hire pilot attends three weeks of ground school in Minneapolis. After ground school, he attends one week of simulator training in Minneapolis, one week in Denver, and flies a four day trip for OE. This pilot will be paid per diem for the one week of Denver training and per diem for the entire 4 day OE trip.
