Yeah, seeing that the most junior -200 upgrading captain on this award is #189, you might be waiting awhile...

Yeah, you are probably right. Although, who would have ever guessed this latest development. When I was hired, we were told to expect 2 to 3 years upgrade time for SF3 CA. Now it is down to 2 months or less.

Careful when playing those games...

I've been hearing a lot of rumors (only rumors) about the 2 year seat locks getting dropped so guys like you don't get higher paid positions than guys who've been sweatin' it out in right seat of a Saab for the past 3-8 years.

...food for thought.

So if I have ATP mins and the written and a Nov 5th class date and want to upgrade in a Saab does that mean I might be a Saab CA by the time I finish training? That would be very nice

Yes, there's a lot of responsibility being a capt on a saab, a crj or a be1900. I agree totally.

But if you've got the time and experience, there's also nothing wrong with being excited about accepting that responsibility as soon as possible.

Yes, it could happen. I think we are all caught off guard, and didn't think it would go so exceptionally junior so quickly. If you're ready for it, go for it.

It's not playing games or for that matter about money. My preference period. I have done my share of flying turboprops. Don't always assume the worst about other people or they will start do the same about you.

Personally, I agree that there should be no seat locks but remains to be seen whether that will come down as well.

Easy tiger. I made no assumptions. Period. When I said guys like you, it was referring to a quote from yourself wanting to bypass the Saab upgrade for a jet. There are too many guys here at XJ who tried playing that game (and yes, it is a game) with the AVRO and ended up getting burned. My previous post was not intended to flame you, just trying to give a newbie like yourself a little lesson of XJ history. Sounds like you've got it all figured out though.
