Are all of these classes full? Is the door closed for these dates? Is 28-30 the average class size?

Compass pilots have been interviewed, screened and hired.
I believe NWA hired "high time" Compass street Captain pilots so they would have the option to be sent anywhere NWA wanted to use them.
Six months ago they could predict the pilot shortage in Mesaba and at NWA. Management (like it or not) is about keeping options open in order to to continue operations and increase profits.

As of yet, all classes have been filled. The door closes when the dates say they do (7-15 closed, 7-16 open for another week). 30 is probably about the average class size for both upgrades/newhires in each type per month lately... thats a LOT of training!

Does anyone know what kind of notification Mesaba gives when you are hired or not hired? Do you get a call if your hired and a letter if not, or a call either way?

We do need you though, so if your interview went well, they will more than likely hire you, I'd say. But the training dept and most probably H/R are extremely busy right now, so be patient and they will get to you one way or another. Good luck!

I interviewed last week.....Thanks for the good gouges on this page.
Interview went pretty good. I thought the HR was awesome (with a captain and HR person). My Tech was ok i guess but it should have went much better. Durring HR i was really relaxed, however once the capatin (really cool guy) started with some Tech questions i just fell apart. They where easy question that i should have had no problems with.
-Brief an ILS approach.
-Explain the Autofeather system on the aircraft i fly now
-Below mins and shooting the approach
The sim.....omg, not much to do in order to prepare for that thing. WOW....i do suggest that whoever interviews next go fly a sim at the local FBO or at least play flight sim. I messed up pretty good but i think i passed.
Tests....not much you can do about the IQ test deal or whatever its called. The 25 Question instrument test wasnt a problem at all. I know i did get one question wrong but thats because i was being an idiot. I think i got all the rest correct though. Know basic instrument procedures, jepp charts and you will not have a problem.
GREAT experiance and it was fun...except missing 5 flights to get back home then loosing/someone stealing my logbook, passport, FCC license, diploma and brief case at DTW. Im in the process of getting new documents. Good luck to everyone else thats up next.
I was at 640tt 240 multi currently flying 121 on-demand frieght in a twin turbo prop.

Well looks likes things are starting to get ironed out and have the ol checkride scheduled for next week. I'm going to be out of DTW so I was curious if anyone based there had any advice on cities or apartment type places. And out of curiosity, has anyone jumpseated to the west coast? Any advice on who's the best to catch a ride with?
