Holidays off during training that's funny. Sorry I don't know where in the contract it states that. I've been in sim/ground school during every major holiday here at xj. No big deal it's part of the job requirement.

11.1 in the contract (11.A.1.b)

But it actually states Dec. 24-25, and Jan. 1st

So, yes training is off for christmas and new years but not thanksgiving, or no training doesn't take time off during the holiday? I'm confused, I thought everybody buy crew members, ground handlers, gate agents and SOC individuals (aka management) took all holidays off.

That is correct. But I can't tell you whether or not they actually hold ground school on Thanksgiving Day. They are able to per the contract.

Thanks marvin, I'll let you know in a few weeks I suppose.

BTW, even if you are named after an old gas station, the south park episodes with Starvin Marvin are hilarious...

Sorry I got that one wrong or at least partially wrong. Training I guess is 24/7/366. With this exception to ground school.
The class can decide to move a training day on a federal holiday(unanimously) to later in the week and only have one day off instead of the normal two days off between the max of 5 days of training in a row.
Training and testing section 11 A.3.b.(3).(a).

And the mentioned 24,25 of dec and jan 1st mentioned above which is what I was originally refering to. Got the Thanksgiving part wrong. 11.A.1.b in the contract.

Got the pc tomorrow and loft on wednesday, does anyone have a ballpark idea for time off before IOE right now? And is it likely to be in your domicile or elsewhere?
