I should also note that While I don’t buy this info 100%, I think anyone saying which airlines will survive and which won’t is comical, and the guys throwing Piedmont under the bus are signaling they would eat their future coworkers to survive.

Honestly it is most likely to merge Piedmont and Envoy. They both fly the 145s so integration wont be hard. A little bit tricker with PSA. Also, PSA and Envoy have bad blood, or so im told. Piedmont also only has 600-700 pilots. Where PSA and Envoy each have over 2,000.
ALPA to ALPA merges are easy too. Because its all based on hire date regardless of company. Unlike two different unions merging. Merging also saves money because instead of 2-3 different recruiting centers, training teams, management, and union reps, you only have one. After that they will furlough junior pilots as one or two big groups. Instead of 3. Note.. Not basing this on any reports just what makes the most sense. so like he said merge then furlough. |

It isn’t a situation we can control, or even put a stop to, because it’s a virus. It doesn’t think. It can’t reason. We just have to wait for science to catch up. Senior guys will eat junior guys. Contractors are eating WOs. Majors are eating regionals. ULCCs are eating majors. It’s all just a bunch of flailing while we sit and wait for numbers to become actionable. Then we will know stuff. Right now we don’t. |

As for future coworkers... open question whether the flow survives. And there’s a case to be made for closing PSA. Messy SAP, extra orphan fleet type, grow piedmont and envoy to fill the gap. |

Love how the Internet warriors are signing my furlough notice and shutting down my airline.

Assuming that were my goal (it’s not) I cannot imagine who would receive such a signal or how one pilot group’s opinions would matter.

Gotta have at least two for whipsaw, but some would say three (much harder for three groups to unify, always likely that an opportunist will screw the others). AS gets away with QX and OO, but only one of those is a WO. |
The independent regionals will provide plenty of whip and nene to boot.
And whipsaw is only relevant when you’re trying to push hamburger over steak. When 10 people are fighting over one pb&j, you just sit back |

Mods please close this thread. Discussion over. |

No way AA will get rid of the WOs right now. They need 3 to whip saw against in the Chapter 11 reorganization. Also, i don't see some of the independent FFD carriers making it out alive.
