Does AA liquidate one WO
Say AA wants to substantially decrease WO volume requiring massive furloughs. Would it be cheaper to just liquidate (or suspend operations) at one airline rather than but all 3 through furlough/recall chaos?

Second, seniority order would mean we were canned first. Guess a /s could have been applied.

Honestly it is most likely to merge Piedmont and Envoy. They both fly the 145s so integration wont be hard. A little bit tricker with PSA. Also, PSA and Envoy have bad blood, or so im told. Piedmont also only has 600-700 pilots. Where PSA and Envoy each have over 2,000.
ALPA to ALPA merges are easy too. Because its all based on hire date regardless of company. Unlike two different unions merging.
Merging also saves money because instead of 2-3 different recruiting centers, training teams, management, and union reps, you only have one.
After that they will furlough junior pilots as one or two big groups. Instead of 3.

Not basing this on any reports just what makes the most sense.

cheaper to merge them and eliminate entire management structures. PSA & Envoy would be the easiest merger.

First, merging PSA and Envoy is easier and cheaper.
second, seniority list mergers are not straight Date of Hire anymore and haven’t been for years.
Third, there is some savings in the areas you mentioned, but not as much as you seem to think. You still have to recruit, train and manage the same number of pilots. The real savings are more on the manager and up level, not on the worker bee. Reduced facility expenses is there too.
