The bigest reason why people washed out was cause they were to busy with the dollar beers at the hotel bar than studying. If you put your time in and read your manuals pay attention in class, the basic stuff that you had to do to get through high school and college youll be fine.

Out of the 25 in my new hire class all of us passed, some still on IOE but, checkride wise everybody made it. They were a partying group, just about everynight down by the pool drinking. It was a fun group and good times.

2 in my new hire class washed out (saab), suprisingly they overstudied, one had about 1800 hours, the other myabe 1500, they never went out either, never partied. One just had no common sense, over thought the systems too much, he was the one that had note cards for everything and pretty much argued and tried to outsmart our course instructor. The other guy had a ton of time but it was all vfr time instructing private students, he washed out of the sysm because he had no SA in the IFR environment. I do not have a ton of experience, have trained previousley at one other 121 outfit that was totally different, no sims, all done in aircraft and I can say that Eagles training is not hard at all compared to what everyone has said. I would go so far as saying you dont even note cards for limitations it is that easy, show up to class, ask questions when you dont understand something, and just dont have your head up your rear, its not that hard at all.
