There is no one size fits all solution besides avoiding debt as much as possible and finding an income stream. After that try to figure out a way to build time, hopefully with somebody paying you instead of the other way around. I wouldn't bother with a restricted ATP. Once you have the full 1500 and 500 XC then get an unrestricted ATP. That might get your resume off the complete bottom of the stack.

So with the ATP CTP and written test completed, what are some good options for a West Coast guy to go finish up the ATP? I have some GI Bill available for schools that can do that.

just find a school with a multi, part 141 if you’re going to use GI. Take a practical in the multi and you’re ATP rated. The better question is what do you do after that? I wish I had an answer for you.

I think a couple regionals are rumbling about hiring, what do they say on their web sites about the ATP?

Mesa sent me the "apply when you have your R-ATP or ATP" certificate completed email.

The actual posted mins haven't changed. However Regionals like Mesa sent out an email to their applicants that they won't consider people without their ATP at this time.
