So those of you who got this email how did it turn out? I just got one today trying to figure out if I should respond back. I think I will with a simple Thank you for the consideration type thing. Did anybody get an interview after this email? Thanks

Don't have to for a ME Comm. I have never done a lazy eight or chandelle. I also have no SE Commercial.

This is how it should be. More seniority numbers at major/legacy carriers means more chances for better jobs for all of us. Believe me on this one. The more the larger airplanes are contracted out the fewer jobs there will be for us later.

There is no way any of the EMB-170 line should be flown by so-called 'regional' carriers IMHO. That should be a mainline jet. End of story. Same should be true for the CRJ-700/900.

Frankly, I'd like to see the Beech 1900s at mainline. No, I am not kidding either.

Would you rather go through a thorough selection process once and have your career progress through a bunch of machinery? Or would you rather become king of the world on a CRJ-900 or EMB-175 and then have to start all over again? Interview again?

What's next? Calling a 737 a 'regional' jet because SWA uses it on some short routes?

Larger airplanes at outsourcing contract 'regional' carriers hurts careers. Short-term happiness for the 21 year old F/O who will never see the inside of a Boeing or Airbus because it becomes contracted out. Beware kids.

This SJS is EXACTLY the mentality your management wants you to have.

I had close to 700/150 and pretty much everyone else was around that mark OR higher. Its your call if you want to turn in a resume/application now or make the decision to keep plugging away and building up more experience.

My times aren't spectacular. Not even close to what would have been needed to get an airline to fart in my general direction during the last hiring boom. I admit its a lucky time to be looking for a job.

Haha thanks guys. I've been instructing for around 100 hrs or so and do agree that building up that experience is necessary. However, I just happened to fall into the middle of a hiring boom and figure that I'll have to take advantage of it while it lasts.

I hope so.. I applied with 450/65 so I might still be a little low for their "competetive min" but on aviationinterviews.com they hired a bunch at around 300 hours but they where probably all crj trans. course people. Did you send them a response to the first email. I haven't yet but as I get farther along I'm thinking of sending a thank you for the consideration type email. Thanks for the info
