CN does not mean “company need”. That was made up several years ago and spread everywhere. It’s Coverage in the Nth layer, meaning you didn’t bid for it but you get it anyways.

It varies by base and month. Lately it’s been sitting around 87-88. September drops a few hours on average. My base average for Sep is like 83.

In reality CN means a bunch of senior guys asked for some days off, the system awards them, then goes “oh $h…t” and decides it needs to award extra flying to the middle layer seniority people until it reaches a norm again where it can start to award less flying to more junior people. That’s why people refer to it as Company Need.
PN on the other hand means you screwed up so badly that you did not end up getting enough flying in layer 1-7 and now you are awarded scraps that are left over…

you are technically correct - but what is the difference to “company need”?

PSA has something good in SAP.
But their worst pairings possibly pay the worst of the worst in the industry.

I bet Envoy won that game during COVID though. There was a 4-day trip that paid 3hrs 54minutes.

I don’t think SAP is going anywhere anytime soon.

PSA has very little ability to collect soft pay or take advantage of work rules. Take the published rate, multiply by 900 and that’s pretty much your annual income. BUT, you have unmatched flexibility in which days you work. Choose your poison.
