Hopefully the flow program dont end up like 7777's avatar. That is how my luck has been in this industry. Hopefully all of you guys have better luck.

NWA has 2nd highest rate of retirements (behind CAL). Hopefully only 'flow up' will be the name of the game the next couple years. Even flowing back, there are worse places to be stuck.

How does the "flow through" work between Compass and Mesaba?

yea but theyre parking all those Dinosaur 9's this year, and the rest very soon. Will the retirements offset that and the furloughs coming back?

I'm not sure I follow you regarding offsets, but as I understand it - there will be a replacement for the 9's. At the mainline level. Possibly 190's. More to follow after I do some digging...

Not a bad question, I'm sure others will have 'opinions' about it but a flowback is essentially a form of job security for the pilots of the parent company, and a source of motivation for the pilots at the regional who wish to fly for the parent company someday. Let's say NWA says they're going to furlough X amount of pilots for X amount of reasons. Those pilots would have the option to flowback to the wholly owned carrier (i.e. Compass/Mesaba), displacing the pilots at the regional carrier from the top. A few years ago this occured with American and American Eagle. In the perfect world, there would only be flow-up. Either way, you will always find that it's a sore subject for a few because not everyone always benefits from it. Hope this helps. I'm sure others will sound off.
