Their days flying 200’s for United are definitely numbered, but beyond that no one knows. United could shuffle the deck with the 175’s that they own, the 550’s could be distributed elsewhere, or they could somehow find a use for unpopular airframes. United has been pretty consistent in their message that UAX will be shrinking by approximately 200 aircraft, which means single class 50 seaters. Considering that the 175’s are currently under contract with larger regionals, I wouldn’t expect a shuffling of the deck. Their best hope is that GoJet can’t handle the 550 flying and that SkyWest doesn’t take it over considering that they own many of the aircraft. SkyWest will be taking a big hit on their 200 flying for United as well and will be looking to replace that revenue. GoJet sounds like a mess, but so do others. AW has a very bleak future and the odds of their employees having to seek new employment when the contract expires in 13 months is pretty high, but nothing in this business is definite until you have the benefit of hindsight.

That is an incorrect statement. OOs -200 fleet is older on average than ZWs. I'm not inclined to think that matters much, but at least get the facts straight.

Thanks all! Looks like Mesa might be it. Does anyone have an online link or PDF to their contract? Google search didn't yield anything Appreciate it.

1) i don’t
2) my experience with regional contracts is
a) they’re loa’d unrecognizably
b) the union can’t enforce plain language let alone anything vague

such that reading the contract is of limited utility

https://mag.alpa.org/Portals/28/Docu...ct/mag-pwa.pdf here you go. Should be mentioned new contract is in negotiation as I type this.
Also FO pay for years 1-3 has been frozen on DOS +1 AFAIK (aka it didn’t go down).

Does ZW have any 200’s with the new UA paint? I’ve seen a decent amount of OO 200’s with new paint running around ORD but none for ZW.

Just think of how many times Delta has said the 50 seaters are going away, yet here they are. Never trust a CEO, they're as bad as politicians.

reading tea leaves is art and science. And then the black swan comes and eats them.

but show me a data point in the last year that’s good news for the future of single-class RJ’s

Company comms telling us they are going to add wifi to some 200s. Their actions saying they'll all be retired by XXXX date, then they pull more of them out of the desert.

Eventually they will go away as they age. Delta will continue to get blood out of that turnip as long as they can.
