agree 100%. I don’t think they’ll be retired voluntarily. They’ll be the first crisis of the captain/lca retention crunch

No.

And that should tell you something.

To be fair, the ZW 200's were only painted within the last 4-5 years. They look much better than the other 200's and 145's with the old paint job.

Fair point, didn’t think of the age of the paint but you’re right.

Also notice that YX doesn’t have any UA birds painted. I suspect that the 170s will go to AA ops and they’ll take new 175s to replace them. YX also has newer UA 175s on property already that don’t need paint yet.

They slowly going away, but they aren’t going to go away as quick folks think they will go away.

data point: United, DL, and AA haven't posted a true profit since Q4 2019.

Once the great downsizing of 2022/23 begins, the staffing crisis will vanish, stagnation will return, and the 200 will once again be flying high.

Oh god, I'm starting to sound like Domino....

They can only march forward posting losses/meager profits for so long before wall street demands that they give up their delusional plans and "shrink to profitability."
