[QUOTE=WiFly;3471632]Anyone know what's going on? Their initial plan was to exploit cheap labor, but they backed off once investigated by the DOT / ALPA. And probably when they realized they can't exploit pilots anymore in this labor market. Also CEO was fired from Virgin Australia after less than a year...yikes.

So what is the latest then? Still not flying and the profile still doesn’t seem correct? It honestly doesn’t look good at this point and would think it’s survival is questionable. As stated, there is lots of work now and I would go to an established carrier before I risk going to a start up.
Something happened but it’s all hush hush. As someone else wrote, just be open and honest. If you are hiding things, it will come back to bite you.

How is that a lie? I have hard evidence to support this:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1) Connect's initial plan was to exploit cheap foreign labor.
"ALPA noted that Connect Airlines, by seeking to hire Canadian crew, could "hire crew at cheaper rates." The benefit comes from airlines that reduced their workforce, leaving more pilots looking for jobs. This leads the union to claim that Connect Airlines is circumventing US pay scales and market competition forces by using Canadian labor."

Personally, I think this is a sleazy approach which shows that the airline does not value its employees and will see them as commodities when the market allows.
(2) Connect's CEO was fired from his role at Virgin Australia after less than a year.
"Virgin Australia's second highest ranking executive is heading for the airline's departure lounge after less than a year in the job....It's understood Virgin management decided he was not the right fit for the role."

This took 2 minutes to google, unless I'm completely missing something here this whole operation seems sketchy. If I'm wrong, then provide me with some evidence. I have no interest in this startup at all - living in the midwest, commuting makes zero sense especially when you have no jumpseat agreements or CASS. Despite this, I have a vested interest in the state of the industry and based on your attitude (assuming you are representative of the kind of people in leadership at Connect), I would caution any pilots living in the PHL/ORD areas against considering this operation.

To all prospective applicants: think about whether or not you want to work for / with people with the kind of attitude you’re seeing on this forum. Only a handful of employees and already a toxic culture. Yikes.

Also it seems the compensation numbers that are being bragged about by this company are artificially inflated by conditional bonuses, etc.
Here are the actual pay rates, taken from Connect’s website. As you can see, they are all below market hourly numbers:

As mentioned in my previous post, I have not and will not be applying for any job with Connect. You called me a liar and I refuted that with hard evidence. Since you are simply resorting to insults and not responding to the evidence I presented, I’m going to assume you have nothing substantive to say. I am SO glad I don’t have to work at Connect with people like you.

FlyToFight, you're lying and knowingly doing it, you should be ashamed of yourself. And where is WMrecruiter? The profile should be removed as it's tricking people into things that do not exist at all.
250,000$ you say FlyToLie, where do you come up with that number? If you're not flying and don't have a license, how is all that money being paid? What do you have to do to get it because there is no way in hell a two turboprop operation is handing out 250,000$ (it's really not 250,000) to anyone.
There are too many other opportunities right now rather than to go to another up and coming Mesa or GoJets.
There is no Flow
No CASS
No KCM
No AIRBUSES
It's honestly quite disturbing all this misrepresentation. There doing it on purpose to try and trick people. As someone posted, look at the history of the place! If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know I don't know what does.
