funny i hate that also I thought we had an understanding.

I really despise the standard question. where do you live? How long have you been with the company? Are you married/girlfriend? How about we do are job and go home.

I also hate nose pickers, breathing like tony saprano in my ear, eating in my ear, complaining about the job, Taxing with the headsets, turning on the flood light at night so they can stay awake.

My pet peeve is when you do something like run a checklist at the time it's supposed to be run and the CA gets all irritated because he didn't 'ask' for it. :D

P.S. - Prior to reading this thread, I was discussing exactly this scenario with my CA. Our new joke is now "I haven't called for that yet!!!!!!" anytime someone makes a common sense move in the cockpit...

And if he doesn't hand fly, the autopilot will ALWAYS be better than he is. He'll be a heck of a button pusher, but then when the buttons die....

It wasn't a question on following standards, I just used that as an example of something that may bother people. I worked at a restaurant a couple years ago and I was a host, and as soon as I switched to being a server I realized there were all kinds of things hosts did that bothered me as well as other servers that I was even doing before that I had no idea was even annoying. I have now been with an airline for about a half a year and just was curious what may bother people. Not saying people should get upset about it at all, I do just that, do my job and go home. If someone did something that slightly annoyed me I would shake it off and move on, which is what most people responding have said they would do. The question had nothing to do with standards, or having a bad attitude and getting angry in the cockpit, just straight up curious if there are certain things that I may not have realized bother some people, for example hogging the paper work. I've probably done that at least once and had no idea, great example! now I know not to do it. I live in Atlanta, not married, and have a boyfriend, not sure what that has to do with anything but whatever.

by the way ... my biggest annoyance in the cockpit is negative attitudes.

I know how you feel on this one.... you've got twice as much work to do and if the old crusty would just let you get to it, your life would probably be easier, right!

Here's something to consider;
1. Why does it bother you? Could it be, just maybe, that you are starting to feel the captain inside of you just bubbling out? You want to show that you know what do and when to do it? I'm not saying this in a negative way. We've all been there.
you will find, when you make captain, that you will find your rhythm, and when the FO is trying to interject his rhythm it might throw you off. Maybe, just maybe, you're a type A+ personality, and you're spreading your wings too much and the captain who did this too you was just doing a little nipping in the butt.

2. maybe you are flying with really young captains that are threaten by how good you are. Cut him some slack, it's not easy finding your balance between being cool, and being in charge.

What is for sure, is that very soon you'll get to find out what it's like from the other chair!

For what it's worth, I brief the FO, " go ahead an just do T/O to the line and After landing, you're a pro- you don't need me" But there are times that the FO will start briefing T/O information at a busy intersection or at a place where you're listening for ATC because your experience tells you that you need to be listening for that call (taxi way D in ATL, or the 50 yard line in LAX) and might tell him to hold off. It might come across like the way your captain lopped you off at the knees, when really there was a reason.

Not trying to lecture, this string is about insight to the other seat. I hope this might help.

FO's that fail to check on performance because their 200hr in type tough them isnt necessary.

When the other pilot says "I just want to go home", literally every 10 minutes.
And doesn't miss one 10 minute span without saying this.
