several reasons, of which i don't all agree with. they all have to do with guys who cant pass writtens, cant pass checkrides, cant pass o.e., get bad reviews over the year of probation, etc, etc.....

it wasn't a personal attack on you, dont be so sensitive. it was an attack on your thinking. sorry if you cant handle me disagreeing with you. and im not trying to sell something. i was answering his question about the specific regionals he mentioned. and yes, i think your idea is ignorant. choosing an airline based on which one hires you from the beginning of training is just plain ignorant. i don't think, other than you, anyone on this board would say that is a good way to choose a regional. you will be on probation your first your, and you can get fired anytime during that first year for no reason at all. either in training or at day 364, whether you were hired before training, or after you pass your checkride. choose on what you think is important. if being hired by a regional at the start of training is important to you then go for it. just letting you know it will do nothing for you. nothing.

So...if it does not make any difference what so ever....why does your company wait with hire you untill after the training?

ok, I wrote this before seing your answer.

all that you say about people not making exams etc are things that the companies that hire you before starting training also have...........

I do not belong to ASA and have no interest whatsoever in promoting them.

I have heard positive things from people in training.......thats all

its all about less paperwork and headaches for h.r. every company does it different, but the result is the same. if they don't like you or you dont do good in training you are gone, and there is nothing the union can do about it. whether hired at day one or the day of your checkride makes no difference for you. that is why i say choose by what is important to you, not by the guy that will hire you from day one,, as this does nothing at all for you.

The gentleman being negative about my opinion gave us all the answers to why companies like his do not hire from the start of training if you read his posting.

You judge yourself what is best for you

answer to that is:

Contact Alpa and ask about the different Regionals and why they hire from the start or not and what they heard about them.

Do that before starting with any company

Best of luck

that's ok

I am fine, just think it is a serious subject and the kids out there need all the help they can get.

It is time people start question things that are going on at some Regionals....
