None of these regionals want higher time people. Higher time people ask too many tuff questions- pay, upgrade, union, etc. if you have 800-1000TT with over 50hrs ME and you fit the bill on your interview- you too can join the ranks of the underpaid at flight level 350. lower time pilots dream of plugging numbers into the CRJ's FMS is clouding judgements on how far under the pay scale they will be. As far as regionals go, I have heard that Air Wiskey is one of the more desirable places to work. Keep pluggin guys.

However, there are exceptions to the rule - there was a 3000 hr 121 captain in my new hire class with 1000 turbine PIC. He was leaving his current employer because he wouldn't have to commute.

In my 6+ years as an "regional" airline F/O...I have flown with high time Captains that should not have been Captains, some should not be allowed to fly airplanes, period. On the other side I have heard Captains tell stories about how they just flew with a new hire low timer and they were very impressed. Numbers are just numbers, look at the indivudual if you want the real story. One persons 1000 hours is not the same as the next persons 1000 hours.

with some insiders at expressjet and eagle, there have been extreme cases where 450TT and 75 ME will get you in the door... as a matter of fact, i was told by a lineholder at eagle that once i had those numbers, he would personally hand my resume into his chief pilot and get things rolling... sounds like i would be missing out on some valuable life and flying experience by taking him up on the offer, but then again, 450 hrs. doesnt get you to a major either
