couldn't have said it better myself. There are people LEAVING the regionals because they aren't flying and want to fly LOL.
Can you imagine any job in the world that would pay you $7,600 a month (mesa, and ENVD) to do nothing but sit at home for 20-25 days in the month being on call with a 12-18 hour callout? people would KILL for a job like that.
There was a month where I stayed at home for 28 days being on long call. got a fat salary, used the time to non rev, travel the world, spend time with family, and have fun. Couldn't have asked for a better job. I'm basically living like a retired man one year into my career LOL
Once they go to another airline and fly their ass off, they will hate it and regret the switch.

I cant believe people are literally throwing away 7.6 grand job/month while only working 5-6 days a month, to go to another job that actually forces you to work lol.

I find it hilarious that people are being ridiculed here for wanting to work hard to reach their goals, or simply enjoy flying an airplane that they worked very hard to get to fly.

I don’t expect it to happen at warp speed, but it certainly won’t happen any faster if I sit around and don’t do anything about it. You’ve got to work hard to achieve your goals. Some people weren’t taught that I guess.

Lol continue working hard all you want buddy. Some people have a life they want to enjoy instead of maxing out their hours per month, and theres no better way to enjoy it than to get a fat paycheck for doing nothing. You're working hard for no reason. All you are doing is walking yourself into a forced captain upgrade when you aren't ready, at wrap speed.

And what does “not being ready” for a forced upgrade have to do with this? 1,000 hours is 1,000 hours. Whether I hit it in 8 months from now or 2 years from now doesn’t really make much of a difference on if I’m ready or not. It’s still 1,000 hours either way…

Yeah, I have a life I want to enjoy too. But you think I want to do that static at regional pay?? BIG NEGATIVE. I’ll hustle in my first couple years so I can get comfortable sooner.

As for your statement about "1,000 hours is 1,000 hours," there is more to it than just the time. While I do see where you're coming from with that argument, it shows your inexperience and naivety. Pumping out 1,000 hours in 1 year is different than spreading it out over 2 years. The reason is that you get to experience winter ops and thunderstorms twice, rather than just once each, before upgrade. Just be careful when you do upgrade as the phrase "you don't know what you don't know" will get real very quick.
