The old switcheroo
#11
Sorry man, I worked graveyard at an FBO there for two years, and never got mugged going off the field to get a snack at the White Castles on Natural Bridge. Never got mugged walking home from my first job while in highschool when I lived 3 miles east of the airport (and it still was considered a "rough" neighborhood then). You must have been having a bad day.

Back to the original question though. How will the old switcheroo be viewed by major airlines, or other carriers when I will be applying down the road?

I asked this same question a while back when I was considering a move. Most people seemed to think the majors won't really care as long as you had a valid reason for doing it (if they even ask you about it). Quality of Life is definitely a valid reason. Just make sure that you don't give the impression that you will jump at the first sign of something slightly better to a future employer.

I don't think anybody really has any answers. The lateral movers are still at the regionals as I doubt too many have competetive times to move on. This is probably an issue that we really won't know a firm answer to for a number of years. It could be no issue, but something tells me it could really have an adverse effect.
That WC is apparently the busiest and most profitable in their system. This according to a friend of mine who paid his way through college working for one and was managing one when he left. As a pilot he is yet to make as much or have bennefits like he did there.

Keep in mind that your worst schedule when living in base will beat the best schedule you could ever get as a commuter every time. You gotta do what's right for you. If it comes up later in another interview, I'm sure you'd be able to craft a carefully worded response about weighing the options and making the decision because your happiness is a direct reflection on how well you do your job.

just jump ship, sim partner. remember that you're leaving the cluster******* that is TSA and moving on to a better place. the commute sucked for me and i was just coming from indy, not the other side of the country.
also, won't you get a bonus for being qualified on the 145.
btw, things are better here at Shuttle.
