come on dude, really. think it through. a summer job as an airline pilot?? you would go through training for 2 months and then what? have 2 months of actual flying before you have to go back to school?? also, i don't believe mesa would pay you during your time in ground school anyway. sorry to lower your high expectations (which are completely ridiculous) during this low-time, "still wet ink on the commercial multi"- hiring boom that is happening right now, but no regional would be stupid enough to hire you for the summer. even so, when you say instrument/multi i hope you mean commercial multi, cause with a private instrument/multi i don't believe its legal for you to be working up front of that shiny crj 900 that all those low time mesa new hires hold so dear to their hearts and dream about flying someday.

OH NO! Not any more... Skywest has been snatching 'em up as quickly as MPD turns 'em out I hear...

Oh, Boeingt7- we get paid the same to fly the ERJ, Crj 200, 700 and 900 as FO. So, who care what ya fly over here? Just avoid the B1900 like the plague. I think they start out at about 15/hour or something. I have to look at our contract to be sure, but I hate getting my hands dirty... I have wiped my bottom with it so many times...

I didnt know MEsa has a JFK base, that would be HORRIBLE with all the delays and no pay protection.....wow

ERJ Driver, I was saying about how most of mesa's 300 hour (if that) wonders can't wait to get their hands (with that fresh comm multi still leaving ink marks on them) on that -900, just so they can tell their friends that they fwy a weal big jet. extremely low-time pilot flying 70+ people in the back = SCARY

I've got 120TT and 8ME and have my Private Multi-Engine ride scheduled for tomorrow.....after 8.1hrs which is the lowest my CFI has ever seen someone do a Multi (VFR only or not). It's in the Twin Comanche...light twin with a Vmc of 78kts...

Crism-

The above qualifications don't make a strong case for you. Even the lowest time hires here at Mesa (from the Mesa Airlines Pilot Development program a.k.a. MAPD) have at least 300 hours and roughly 100 multi with a commerial and instrument. I'm not saying this is high time, but it is high time relative to you.

I worked the ramp before my airline job, and short of knowing to wear ear plugs and stay away from turning props, it hasn't benefitted me working in the cockpit whatsoever.

I got my multi in 3.9 hours in a Beech travel air, a burly twin that is older than the two of us combined.

This sounds like I am trying to start a peeing match with you, and I assure you am not. Recently I have realized I come across as a jerk, so I am trying to change that.

What 727ups said above is spot on. Previously I wasn't a fan of him, but that post changed my mind. Read it and take it to heart.

Finish up school, get your ratings and some time, then come to the regionals. It's the right way to do it.
