Polarized Sunglasses
#24
I've been wearing RayBans for ten years. Accidentally picked up a Polarized pair two years ago after I broke a pair sliding a bag underneat the seat in front of me on my way to Upset Recovery training.
Only problem the polarization has caused me is that in one of the King Airs I used to fly the FMS screen lettering turned from Blue and White to Yellow and Green. Weird that it didn't happen in any of the other 9 airplanes.
Also, when ever I would lean my head toward my shoulders while looking at the EFIS tubes the image would vanish.
I also can see funky circles in the windows on chrystler products.

Revo's baby. The only way to go. Ebay 35$ brand new out of the box. They don't make the style anymore but they can be found. I have had the same style (2 different pairs) for 15 years and never have tried on ones that beat them!
If its good enough for NASA it's just fine for me!

Had a pair of polarized glasses when i was in the Dash: at the best of times I saw rainbows like I was on LSD, when it was worse I had black spots sometimes limiting my entire view out of the windows.
It was totally cool though.

I've used Polarized glasses while flying and I've only had a problem once. I thought the insturment wasn't working and because there was no #'s, (I think it was a comm) after a couple of minutes, I lifted the glasses and it was there clear as day. However, I asked my AME what kid of glasses are best for the eyes and he said to get Polarized.

I had polarized in the CRJ; at cruise alt there were always crazy rainbows in the windshield, but not at low altitude, makes no sense. If i tilted my head the standby ATT indicator would go black beacsue it is polarized as well. If you have newer LCD's in your cockpit they will probably go black if you tilt your head. Other than that no problems.
