So being that I am furloughed, and I am trying to get my ATP.
Was the initial or the recurrent sim training that we did under part 142? Alknew |

The CVG base will become a small and a veeeeery senior base.
When the latest round of displacements are done... The most junior CVG FO will be a 7-year guy. The most junior CVG Captain will be a 12-year guy. Reserve for CVG Captains will go as deep as 19 years (possibly more depending on how the trips are built.) Only 2 Chief Pilots will have the seniority to hold CVG. And as far as size, 5 years ago there were 1800 Comair pilots based in CVG. Today there are what, maybe 550? Good times! |
The fight continues: Delta vs. Mesa
Delta and Mesa Air lock horns again
I know this has been posted on a different thread, but this might have an effect on Comair. What if Delta dumps Mesa, will Comair get back some of the flying out of CVG? |

On the topic of HP aircraft and endorsements. I don't believe that just because you are flying a jet aircraft, it would not cover the complex endorsement because, technically, jets do not have a constant speed prop.
Although you need a complex endorsement to get a commercial certificate to get to this level...so nevermind. |

Don't fool yourself into thinking that Delta is happy having 3 wholly owned regionals. Things will happen, and happen soon. On a seperate note: I flew on NWA a few weeks ago, with an actual ticket. I thought it quite comical that the gate announced it "Delta Flight ###, served by Delta Subsidary Northwest Airlines..." Wasn't there some sort of big deal that Delta bought NWA and they were merged into the "largest airline in the world"? Why are they considered a "subsidary", in fact, why does the name still exist? When I fly USAir they don't say "served by USAir Subsidary AmericaWest" On a related note: I now understand why NWA F/A's are upset that the red dress is not available over size 18! One of the F/A's on my flight had the red dress on, and I have pictures to prove this, her huge butt was clearly visable whenever she reached up to shut an overhead! I did not know whether to laugh or report her! |

I spoke with JB about this issue back before the injunction was upheld. He stated that even if Delta won, and Freedom was gone, Comair would most likely not see any of that flying. He also said that Delta would probably just do away with most of that flying and it would not go to anyone. This said, someone would probably have to cover some of CVG flying, and what better company to do it than Mesmair (the joint Mesaba/Comair airline of Delta's future)?

The NWA flights are not technically operated by Delta until they are moved onto Delta's operating certificate. That's why all the NWA planes in Delta paint say "operated by Nortwest Airlines" in little letters near the tail. Much like all the regionals that don't fly in their own paint have that "operated by -----" somewhere. After certificate merging all the old paint NWA planes will say operated by Delta on them til their turn in the paint shop. |
