Not trying to start any rumors and I haven't read much of this thread to see if anyone else has posted this, but I was told by a M88 LCP this week that Comair will be returning to CVG. Of course I work at Delta and so does he but he told me that it came up in a check airmen meeting.

I'm guessing that Delta has run the numbers and has decided that enough CVG based crew members have moved to New York or other cities to align their commutes to JFK, that now if they move them back to CVG the crews will just quit because their commutes hardly work.

I would think if they moved all the flying to JFK including the 70/90 alot of crews will quit. I have now idea how Delta/Comair bosses think, but they seem to waste a lot of cash.

There's no way the company or Ng4 would turn down additional flying. Our last profit sharing was as high as it was, due to Ng4 taking on extra flying.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT!!!!

Delta just annouced that CVG will be losing 25 flights from the Comair side of the house. CDG Mainline is gone. 11:00a.m. push is gone. More flights to be lost on the Comair side of the house starting in January till?????

This was confirmed by numerous management types. Check the Cincinnati Enquirer for more details.(10-23-2009 edition) It was a nice ride, but Comair it appears- will be joining Pan Am, Braniff and others.

If you have heard different, please post. The long windown......has begun.

Delta adjusts CVG schedule to boost profitability
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
October 23, 2009

Delta is adjusting flight schedules at the Cincinnati hub in January to improve overall profitability. The changes will not reduce mainline jobs or service or affect Cincinnati business travelers.

“It is in the best interest of Delta’s Cincinnati customers that we take every step possible to return the Cincinnati hub to profitability,” said Joe Esposito, managing director-Schedule Planning. “January’s changes are another step in the right direction as they reduce departures in the 11 a.m. flight bank that historically has been the smallest and least profitable for the hub.”

The January schedule maintains service to all 50 of the top destination cities from CVG, including daily nonstop service to Paris-Charles De Gaulle.

Flights will be reduced from 215 to about 190. Four cities – Huntsville, Ala.; Charleston, S.C.; Savannah, Ga.; and Tulsa, Okla. – will be discontinued from Cincinnati but will continue to be served from other hubs.

Breaking news from 2005, you mean? The long windown began in July of that year.

T-D,

First off, I doubt management gives a crap about pilots quitting at mainline or connection. Every pilot that quits saves them a few months of furlough pay.
And secondly, the thought of management actually caring about pilot commutes is also highly dubious.
