Comair updates?
I just left yesterday!
I was shut out of Epic within a couple of hours of turning in my badges! I just got into ATL and tomorrow is my fist day as a Delta employee. Heck my new manager even gave me tomorrow off! Good luck to those still left.

I never have made a post in this thread but always watched it with amazement. I could never keep up with it but it was still interesting to pop in. However, I think it is a VERY important history lesson. As they say, "The writing is on the wall." It would be interesting to go back through this thread and highlight some key points. As of now, it's about a 4 year thread and it really shows how drastic and cyclical the airline industry is (did I mention, volatile).
The first thread talks about updating resumes and stuff for possible hiring and just a year or two later, massive furloughs and downgrades. I am not even an airline pilot but I know I have learned several lessons. No matter how much of a good bet you have, or think you have, it could flop in the face in just a matter of weeks and months. What is stable and a sure thing one day is a pink slip the next.
It would be interesting to summarize some important dates and read the appropriate posts that went with them. See what speculation came to be or what was just "hot air."
Hope all the comair folks found themselves job and those still there can keep at it long enough till they get on to something better.
Again, I think this thread is a valuable history experience. If anything, it teaches you don't worry - you can't predict this industry so why bother?

If you mean in the last round, 61 Captains are getting downgraded to FO's.
There were 62 "awards", but one guy already left and I know for sure at least one more on that list that has got another job. How many more of those guys will accept another downgrade? Time will tell.
The C7F vacancy bid; all 14 open positions will be filed with reinstatements.
There are currently 24 pilots with reinstatement rights to C7F and, as far as I know, only one of those who have the opportunity to get reinstated in this round wants to go to DTW.

Hey guys, I hate to bring up that stupid merger fund again, but anybody like me stop paying it when they found out they were going to get furlough and then get hired by another ALPA carrier? I'm off probation now and I'm starting to get invoices again for the amount I didn't pay. I know as ALPA members we are reponsible for any past dues with a former airline but anyone get out of this. Even if I have to pay, I rather my money go somewhere else other than some phantom merger fund. The last thing I want is to go into bad standing. Thanks.
