Biannual, Biennial, Semiannual

"Biannual" and "semiannual" both mean "twice a year." "Biennial" means "every two years." Because of the possible confusion between "biannual" and "biennial," use "semiannual" when you want to describe something that occurs twice a year.

So, I'm not sure if the SIDA office really wants us to do this every six months or every two years. According to the memo it would be twice a year, but I doubt that is right...

I'm 99% certain that it's every 2 years. It was probably just some typo, and it's caused MASS PANDEMONEUM in the Comair ranks.

I've had many different SIDA badges, and aren't they're usually VALID for 2 years anyways no?

and they change the codes every what? 6 months? something like that. It probably is two years with everything else. It would make sense if they just did it with every badge change.

Check your email:

"We are still making minor adjustments to the number of pilot and flight attendant displacements, but the fall flight schedule calls for substantial reductions - 300 pilot positions and 220 flight attendant positions. For pilots, the displacement bid will affect both CVG and JFK CRJ captains. However, we expect the largest impact to be in our JFK base for both work groups.

The next step for flight attendants is to release a part-time bid no later than July 9. For pilots, we expect the displacement bid to be released no later than July 21."

I'm getting furloughed.
