About this mandatory SIDA training for the CVG guys...

What will the termination date be for those that don't bother to complete the training?

Now that mandatory training will be every six months, will we be paid for our time to complete the course, or will we still do it for free?

You need to have it done by August 1st. I read somewhere if you don't completed by then, you can still do it after the 1st, but there is a fee you have to pay. What's this 6 month thing you are talking about? And no, you don't get paid for it.

TO:
Comair Leadership Team

FROM:
Ed Hollkamp, manager of Security and Regulatory Compliance

RE:
Important Training Changes for CVG SIDA badge holders
The Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport will issue new CVG SIDA badges to all
eligible employees in September and October of this year. All CVG SIDA badge holders who
have not completed the computer-based SIDA training must do so by August 1, 2008 in
order to receive their new SIDA badges in September or October.

The new training is an interactive computer training program complete with quizzes throughout

the training. If your SIDA badge authorizes driving inside the CVG SIDA (there is a RED
boarder around your picture), you must complete the new computer-based driver’s training as
well.
There are no exceptions to this requirement, and there is no charge for the training, which will
take approximately one hour to finish. Training can be completed at the Airport ID Office
between 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Select Comair departments
have the ability to conduct this training within their respective teams as well, and therefore, each
department leader is responsible for determining how they will comply with this requirement.
Persons out of compliance will not be issued new SIDA badges in September/October of 2008, so
please ensure that your team members are in compliance. In addition, after this year’s initiative,
bi-annual SIDA training for all CVG badge holders will be required.

That's the every six month thing I was talking about.

Embrace the Suck.

You are complaining about the company taking the money you overspent beyond your budget in 20 weeks!!! You should be grateful that you have a job for now. Hundreds of pilots are losing their jobs every day. I’m really tired of people complaining about how we are all getting screwed by the airline. We might have been screwed by the airlines in the past, but today we are getting screwed by the oil speculators, the oil companies and our energy policy. So instead of *****ing, why don’t you do something productive and write your congressman and senator. You can do that throug Deltanet.
Just my $0.02

Thanks for the advice. I already handled the letters. I also hand wrote letters to my congressman and senator.

I never said that I overspent at Crew Outfitters. Do you know my balance? I just think the timing is VERY interesting.

Everyone has always been screwed by speculators of ANY kind. Stock market, real estate, commodities, precious metals and the list goes on. The price of oil will give at some point, just like the implosions in the dot.com sector, real estate, hedge-funds etc. When the average Joe decides to get in to speculating, after all of the real market makers have reaped the profits, it will implode. Maybe not to $55 per barrel, but it will pull back enough to screw the me-too speculators. (Israel vs. Iran ... all bets are off)
By the way, I could use more than $0.02
