If short lines get offered to reduce # of furloghed how would they work? Do you get assigned work for half a month and the other half is off or are you avail. all month with just less flying?

Ladies and Gentlemen, have you seen the news today? According to airline management for US. Airways the airplanes are landing with too much fuel on them. They need to be operated closer to the min fuel required by the FAA.

Most of the folks I fly with are pretty good at demanding more fuel if they believe they need it. Can you imagine the voice over the radio in CVG telling us we can't have extra fuel while flying around thunderstorms or in the winter? Or is that why we had an aircraft divert to Stuart the other day?

Better yet! Just wait until the gate starts calling down. Flight to IAH, or SAT, "we only fueled you to 6500lbs because we needed to get a few extra pax on."

That's not new news

Most of the reduction will start in Sep.

Any speculation as to why we'd be offering a position for a Learning Services Facilitator in ORD? That can't be a small announcement.

Okay folks, to answer any questions on the voluntary furloughs and senior buyouts:

"Talk of voluntary furlough, and early-out programs have
been rumored about in the past few weeks. As much as I’d like to report that these programs are
going to be available, they currently are not. As a result, the necessary steps to align staffing with
the block hours that we expect to fly must be taken."

COLA's were posted and removed within an hour??
