I had this happen before too...they are correct after 15 hours you need comp rest. Why didnt you time out after 14:30 of duty? Were you in the air?

JFK Bid out.... huge block hour reduction

Question for you guys... I had a LC1 scheduled for tomorrow. Today when I got back from my trip, it had been changed from a LC1 to A2 window. Scheduling says they didnt do it and to call planning. Planning tells me it was because of balance. What is the point of bidding LC if they always change your window and give you trips and RR on every day of you LC?

Uhh...yeah? That would also explain the 9:38 block too. A 2.3 hour planned flight time extended into 4.5 hours, including 90 mins of holding out to sea, then reroute back really far inland, then more holding at the destination, which ended in a diversion.

Sounds like my kind of flight.

Yeah, I never get that lucky. I always sit and wait on taxiways and then taxi back to cancel the flight. Then ferry to CVG and buy a hotel. My point was that we should not volunteer to go to 15:30 of a duty day. Of course if you get 1 hour of extra delays in the air there is nothing you can do about it.

Seems to happen with me also a few times a month. It stinks but they can do it if the staffing levels fall below a certain amount (aka poor planning on somebody's part). Extremely frustrating, and it's one of the points the union is trying to fix along with long calls doing RRs etc. Now how they decide which window to change it too is something I don't know, I certainly never bid for A2 but somehow I still end up with it once in a while. Again it sucks and I don't understand why they award one window then change it because someone didn't plan ahead or whatever reason they change it for.
