Resume

There is a part 135 cargo company called Airnet that hires low time pilots and puts you into a SIC time building program that you might want to look into. All you fly is Multi aircraft and get loads of IFR experience, which is what the airlines are really looking for now.

I looked into Airnet, they have a 1.5 year training contract for their SIC training program. I guess since its still early in my search I'm not ready to lock into a training contract but its definately a decent option. Thanks.

is airnet the one who fly primarily barons, and eventually some jets if memory serves me right? I think i remember things being very competitive when i looked there a year + ago, but times have changed...if that's even who i was really remembering.

yeah airnet is a pretty good gig but the schedules suck. Its monday through friday 7 P.M. to 7 A.M. Thats if your lucky, the guys i know there lost their friday runs and that means 20 percent less pay. Its a good experience builder to move on to the next step, but nowdays you dont need a ton of multi IFR experience to get a reginonal job. ITs the best experience you can get, but if you can go straight to the regionals. i would look into that.

Resume' writing can be very complex. My best suggestion is get up with some of your friends/mentor and ask them what they did. Also you can get books or articles on resume' writing and formats from the web and public library.
With the winter months coming I see the unusual time building jobs starting to come to a close. I.E. jump plane, and banner/ glider towing. I CFI'd for 2 years before my first true job. Although the industry has changed quite a bit since then. If you willing to relocate to other destinations, this probably will open up other doors if the CFI thing is not your forte'.

BTW; I once emailed a resume to DHL with Flight Officer for UPS as an objective. Don't do that.

My advice on resumé writing:
1. Make sure there are no (as in none, zero, nada, zilch...) spelling or punctuation or grammar errors.
2. Make sure it is addressed to the right company. Don't say your "Objective" is a career with Express Jet if the resumé is being dropped off at Skywest. Yes, people do this.
3. Keep it to one page. They care about your qualifications and not much else.
4. Don't exagerate or lie or imply a non-truth.
5. Update often.
