So what's the flying like on the Saab out of LAX? I know Eagle only goes to a few places, does it get pretty routine after a while, or does the mighty Saab keep things interesting? What's the DOH for the junior CA over there? Still up in the 7+ years?

LAX is very senior all around. Esspecially jet. I had guy in my class, a capt, going from Saab to the jet. He had been with the company for 18yrs and going on the jet he could barely hold a line. Needless to say very senior. FWIW I keep hearing the Saabs are going away in 08' anyway so you'd on the jet.

Thats just rumors I have heard backed up from what captains have told me. Though I suppose you should never believe everything a captain says
With the way the been canceling upgrade classes for the Saab nothing would surprise me. I definitly think LAX Saabs would be the first to go if they go anywhere at all.

And to further this rumor, our latest vacancy bid had a note on it saying that AE is reducing seatlocks for turboprop FOs to 6 months. Our seatlock was 12 months, but this reduction might be a cheaper and quieter way to get the FOs out of the Saabs and onto the jets. The news I heard was roughly 2-4 airframes offline by april 2008, with further reductions to come in the 2008 year.
