Default Eagle drops mins again.....600/100

A friend sent me an article regarding an AE job fair.....


To qualify for an interview with American Eagle, a pilot must meet the following minimum requirements:
-- Commercial Pilot Certification with Multi-engine and Instrument ratings -- Total fixed-wing time in excess of 600 hours -- Multi-engine fixed-wing time in excess of 100 hours -- Recent flying experience -- Current FAA First Class Medical -- IFR Currency -- FCC License -- Possess the ability to work in the United States -- Possess the ability to travel in and out of the United States to all cities/countries served by American Eagle -- A valid passport -- Ability to relocate -- Ability to work weekends, nights, shifts, holidays, and overnight trips -- Age 21+

To the best of my knowledge 600/100 has been the mins for over 4 years now; or maybe that’s what it was for the flight school I taught at.

I friend of mine was invited to interview with them recently. He finished a CRJ transition program and he has around 330TT. He turned them down anyways. (upgrade time, pick your own base bull****) I don't balme him. I would do the same.

Quite a change of pace in the 121 world when 300 hour pilots start turning down airline offers. How the times have changed!!

Eagle called me yesterday morning and left a message saying I needed to get 25 more hours (To get to 800 TT) then they'd finish my file review and get me into class.

The phone rang at like 3:30 yesterday afternoon with her telling me that I dont need to get the 25 hours because the mins were dropped to 6 and 1.
