Have fun jump seating for the first time. I'll have to call you and get the details.

Well, it's just a 20 minute B1900 ride between the main airport and my home city. I don't even think there's a real jumpseat on the plane, so I'll just sit in back. :)

Nice job manning up av8tr.

When I was a check airman @ my last job, I had a CA that had a bad day on a line check. Then he had a bad day in the sim. Re-checked and passed. I had to give him his 'back to the line' line check. We met early and BS'd for a while before doing a quick DTW-AZO turn. Just told him I'd be a good F/O for him. He knew he had to pass or it was his job but I never mentioned that to him. Guy did great. Most of us standards guys never want to see anyone wash out or fail. Unfortunately there are some guys that are given a position of authority and really abuse it. This is one of the best threads I've read in a while. Lots of support for you pal. Good luck with the rest of your airline career.

I did alright on the retake. I checked the outside distracions at the door and am now catching up immensely.

The other night I was so lost that I started to wonder if I had completely missed the boat during training. I was asked to turn the auto pilot off and hand fly a non-precision. My instrutor said I flew well for raw data but he wanted the flight guidance on, lol. This is where my problems started. I found out that I was totally cluless about the flight guidance system. I understood the theory but it was the application that I struggled with.

Everyone screws up. Everyone, period. I didn't know how the use the FMS at all when I jumped in and had to get a lesson on it. Big deal. Don't let others talk mess. I find for those that do this is usually the biggest experience they've ever had. I always find it funny when people talk about 'raw data' like it's this ultimate form of proving you're awesome at flying. I'm wondering what they flew before these barbie jets lol.

The best way they could find to keep the FAA out. Some manage to suck it up and get in though. I want a note on it that says "We're not happy till you're not happy".

PS. Either I have good memory or am about to look like an ass but I'm pretty sure Av8tr is a woman. A lot of people keep saying he, him, the dude, etc. Just an FYI. Lets hope later I don't owe and apology.

LOL, I find it kinda of funny actually. I mean...I don't want to say something that might get me in trouble but the kitten avatar?! Umm... :) Flying the barbie jet must be bringing out ya'lls sensitive side.
