Yeah, I understand the reasoning. It's just a pain when you don't get the base you were bidding for and then you don't fly much either. It's not a huge deal, I got awarded FAT for December and most of the guys I've talked to out there are flying 100+ hours/month. Plus, I commute, so I figure if I'm going to be away from the wife and kids I might as well be working. I'm just putting in the time, things are going to be much better in a couple months. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was whining. It's just tough to hear the company asking for people to put in extra time when I'm sitting on my thumbs in San Luis. I'm done complaining. There are definitely worst places to be sitting on reserve.

Because if you volunteer there is always the chance you don't get called and get 3:45 for doing nothing. Then if they call you, you get x1.5 anyways so it's the same as picking it up.

Well, they mean well. I did finagle 17 days off next month, and it's actually my first month of having a regular line. I'm optimistic that when I'm less junior (I would have said more senior, but that's just silly at my level) and there's more reserve coverage it will actually be a somewhat capable system.
Oh by the way, the people who think they just pulled this off the shelf on a whim to thwart a union drive are fooling themselves. I used to, and occasionally still do, manage databases and write web applications and this sort of thing would take months to prepare and test. And I think it did, in this case. So the timing is probably just coincidental. Either that or SkyWest is more diabolical and has much better foresight than I gave them credit for.

You guys do recognize that many of the issues you think are SkedPlus+ problems are really staffing problems.
We need more bodies just to run the system we have. I have yet to see a SINGLE day in SLC for RJ FO's that isn't a red arrow.

Anyway...
Got the conditional offer into the 19th RJ class!
Does anyone have any RJ materials / gouge / general tips they wouldn't mind sharing?
I was thinking about getting this book as well: www.crjstudyguide.com
Again, thanks for the help, and probably see some of you in the not too distant future
