Could a nwa delta be merger imminent?

That is a fairly accurate statement. 50seat RJs are on their way out so Mesaba does not really need more than 15 from Pinnacle especially when NWA has the option for 94 additional CRJ900s. What could happen is NWA could decide to pull out a large number of CRJ200s out of Pinnacle and deactivate them. In turn, NWA could place more CRJ900s to XJ service. At least this is the talk going around coming from the top down from NWA.

Did not mean to depress anyone. My next post stated that Pinnacle will come out just fine no matter what because Delta will be certain to give Pinnacle a bulk of CRJ900 flying, more than initial 18. Pinnacle has a core of great pilots very much like XJ and both XJ and Pinnacle are in pretty much the same boat in the long run. NWA will probably wind up selling off XJ after the buildup.

I see NWA's reason for that in the ASA. Like Lighteningspeed said, NWA probably doesn't mind just parking the 50 seaters and having nobody fly them, since they can just order up some more 900's for Mesaba. NWA is probably hoping Pinnacle flies a lot more 900's for Delta so they can exercise that option in the ASA.
