I'll bet you watch Desperate Housewives, too.

I rather like to think of it as 'The Economist' or 'New Yorker'. BTW did you hear Britney was pregnant again and had an abortion?

Its the other way around....DL is much larger in the east and NWA is larger in the midwest and west. NWA is huge to Asia, where DL lacks and DL is huge to Europe and South/Latin America where NWA is lacking. CVG and MEM would be closed as hubs and downsized significantly in favor of DTW and ATL I'd be willing to bet. And yes, the type rating for an MD-88 and MD-90 for that matter does say DC-9. But they are still somewhat different from the original DC-9 that NWA still flies.
Of all the mergers being thrown around among the legacies I believe this one to be a better fit than DL/UA...just my $0.02

I kinda thought NWA's selling of all its 9E shares was a "just in case" response to the impending 9E strike.

this is true, but the nice thing is the public doesn't know it. its pretty big news here in memphis about the "commuter strike", you know when they say things like, "have holiday plans, if its on a northwest commuter flight you might want to think about other arrangements!" lol...

What is your source for this rumor?
NWA has bdeen planning to sell Pinnacle shares for a long time. So that has no connection to NWA Delta merger rumor. It just supports the statements made by senior NWA CAs that NWA is planning to reduce Pinnacle flights and shift them over to Mesaba and Compass. Delta and NWA are such different airlines it would be easier to believe UAL Delta merger rumor.

no this cant be done. they cant take anymore flying from us, unless they go back into bankruptcy to get the 10 year contract thrown out they signed with us. i believe 124 planes is the lowest they can go with us unless we pick up a considerable amount of flying from another carrier. then who cares. as long as i am flying and have a job it could be for nwa or for delta, or united.... same crap different airline.

Pinnacle will soon be flying 16 planes for Delta, once that number hits 20(and I'm sure it will) NWA has the ability to start transfering more CRJ's from Pinnacle and giving them to Mesaba. But, only up to 20 A/C.
