Just throw a tip jar by the main cabin door

I love it!!!
PA- Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, On behalf of myself and your FO Snicklefritz, let me add my welcome aboard. We'll be pushing back shortly for our two hour trip to Pohdunk airport. The weather there is 72 degrees with plenty of sunshine and light winds. We hope you enjoy our service and would appreciate you showing it by filling our tip jar on your way out. 10% is way too much, so just a buck or two will do. For now just sit back and enjoy the excellent service.

You suffer under the delusion that airline management would pay labor one penny more than they negotiate. Pilots are on the cost side of the balance sheet - not the asset side.

Please tell me why so many senior people trash guys who share the same dream and career goals that they have themselves. It is not the fault of the less senior guy or the pilot paying his dues flying for an airline you would not allow to transport your dog, that management is shaving the pay and QOL from not just your pocket but that RJ pilots pocket as well.Long time listener, first time caller

A greaser in a RJ deserves a tip... nobody HAS to make it a comfortable landing... you could just let it hit the 1,000' markers and call it a day.... its work to get that bird to land nice (the CRJ-200). To summarize... a nice landing in an RJ is "impressive" to say the least, so tip accordingly.

like was stated before, you tip when it becomes personal. ie, taxi driver, charter flight with only a couple passengers.
no, you don't have to have a greaser everytime, but if you never have them, you will end up scaring your co-workers.. like I said, I know you're kidding, I just wanted in on the discussion.

For the tips....nobody ever told me that we don't get tips at regionals... so I am holding out for the majors now. I think they get tips--someone correct me if I am wrong.
What if I stand in the door and say hi to people when they get on, and then stand there and say bye to them when they get off? That's pretty personal...and if I throw in the occasional "how are you today" there is no question that is personal!
I never have them, which is what will make it so special....and when that day comes---I expect a tip!

I stand corrected.
