Let's just say I've put off the airlines to follow a dream....... and now I'm ready to take things to the next level. I have 700TT 350 multi, BS Aviation, and hope to be competitive with the higher time required regionals like Republic, Skywest, etc....... I hope it might help get me in the door with a little less TT than published mins.

It will definitely get you in the door with at least a few of them. If I were looking at your paperwork I'd want to bring you in just to hear any stories about flying the bombers.

BomberGuy, that's awesome, ever since I was a little kid going to air shows following a Lockheed Constellation around the northeast with my dad. Ever since I've wanted to get involved in keeping them flying, and to fly them in the process. Needless to say, I'm pretty envious of the position you're in right now.

So go make some more posts so I can PM you, I've gotta hear how you did it.

I would almost kill to get a B17 type rating. If I could make a living flying old airplanes, I would.

Go to an Open-House and speak w/the recruiters there, being sure to highlight your experience...got me on below mins...

Thanks ya'll. It's a long story, but you basically have to give up any sort of real life for yourself and live, eat, breathe, and sleep old airplanes..... as well as stay extremely poor. It was worth it though! I wouldn't hesitate to do it over again. And as ehaeckercfi mentioned, there's no living in it, at least the the living I want. I guess it's all a manner of schmoozing the recruiters with war stories and promises to to let them fly a little!

I only have an SIC type in the 17' as of right now, but that should change by the weekend I hope... knock on wood.
