Just think how much more bitter you will become if more 400's come on line. Plus, I am sure you know more about the workings of Colgan than I do, I only work for them.

I'm one of em clueboy. 660XXX Is the DFW CP still RD? What exactly did I post that is incorrect for someone that actually cares to further their career and gain PIC experience? Enjoy being an FO. Is the bottom of that seniority list catching you faster than you are moving towards the top?
Coming into this 8 years ago, Im sure you had no idea it was going to be this long. And you cant proove that the people getting hired right now wont have to wait 4 years for an upgrade, especially with all the change that could happen over the next year. But the fact is, minus the wait for the upgrade, Eagle is still one of the better companies to work at compared to the whole board of regional airlines. And its not fair to say "Eagle sucks, dont work here" because that is not true.
The long upgrade, is not new news. Everyone already knows about it.
Cheers.

What? Get your facts straight. CAL has hired 1200 pilots since 2005. Only a few have quit, but not because CAL sucks. They got a "better" offer. Some have left for Delta or Southwest because they lived near their hub. EWR is awesome to fly out of (some of the best trips at CAL). I've flown out of EWR for 12 years. I don't live there. I wouldn't live near any major airport. What's wrong with being a EWR 737 reserve Captain? Twelve days off minimum and $150/hour with 76 hour min pay (that's $11,400/month). Three or nine hour call reserve. I've never flown over 50 hours on reserve at CAL and had many months with less than 5 hours. Is reserve better at the regionals? There are no 2 year Captain's at CAL. There are a few at about 3 years (except for the chief's son, he's closer to 2). I'm a former regional pilot, so I've seen both sides. CAL is 1000% better than any regional.

Quick upgrade is even more important now that 65 has passed. The best position you can be in if the Majors start slowing hiring down is at a Regional logging PIC, 900 hours a year PIC at that.
Why logging this PIC you can look at other options beside the Majors, like the growing fractional market.
For most of us the Regionals are all about getting in a getting out ASAP. Nobody looks at Regional pay scales at the 8-12 year level. The way to get out is PIC as quickly as possible.
Most of us instructed at a school where we were billed out at a cost much higher than what we were paid. Why did we do this? To get the dual given time and get out. The used us and we used them for the time. The Regional market is a lot like that. What logical person would spend $50K+ on a education to make such little at a Regional. Whether it is Great Lakes pay or SkyWest pay it is too little for what we do, so why do we do it. We do it to get the TPIC and move on, they use us and we use them.
