Default Do Not Work at American Eagle

Two good friends of mine who actually still work here finally upgraded to the Saab after almost 8 years to only discover that the Saabs are soon to be parked in 2008. After just 100 hours as PIC 121 and 8 years, back to FO they go. Besides, Eagle still has flowbacks, AA has 2000+ on furlough and the flowthrough agreement dies in May 2008.

In the end, only 100+ guys ever flowed to American from 1997 when their 16 year contract was signed, 600+ FOs from AA flowed back to guaranteed RJ Captain positions from 2001 to 2007. One has to ask themselves the point of working at a place like Eagle beyond 1000 hours of jet time? Unless you like the idea of working for AMR, oh wait, AMR is selling Eagle, so you can just work for Eagle now, worse!

Aww you didnt get the job? I would be upset too.

I've been here for a little more than 2 years now and nothing but good times. I have friends at just about every other regional out there and our QOL and work rules at Eagle is better than most others. I know many FO's who have been getting hired from Eagle to major airlines without upgrading after only a few years in the right seat.

I'm one of em clueboy. 660XXX Is the DFW CP still RD? What exactly did I post that is incorrect for someone that actually cares to further their career and gain PIC experience? Enjoy being an FO. Is the bottom of that seniority list catching you faster than you are moving towards the top?

Most seem to have done an internship there during college or know the right people. CAL requires quite a few internal recs. A less then popular fact is that CAL has had 1200 pilots quit since 2005, you'll find that fact over in the major section. I guess EWR isn't a real hot spot, even as a 2 year reserve Captain.

Hmm one would think they would be displaced from left seat Saab to left seat jet. And again....the Saabs haven't been sent to the desert.....................yet....and there hasn't been an announcement....yet.

i thought that it was the jet that is being parked in la in the near future. the saabs are a money maker!(according to the chief, but he may be blowing hot gas out of his *ss too) AMR sold eagle to get rid of ALPA and buy it back to get everyone under one list and one union! APA.... any AA guys know about that...or am i just retarded? probably retarded!

The LAX base with only 6 RJs will be the first base to close. Recently, at the training department, a few Saab instructors have been sent away and those in Saab seatlocks have been released from that seatlock. There is currently no plan to backfill the vacancies created. I wish I could quote my source but promised not to.

Unlimited and RJ, do your homework for crying out loud, your career depends upon it.

I know Colgan would like some of those Saabs. Their long term growth is in the Q right now but the Saab is great in so many markets and when oil is $100/barrell
