your predictions on a merged DAL/NWA regional fleet

You are kidding right? If not you should be kicked out of professional flying for good.

Call the fire department... I feel it getting warm!
In all seriousness the "regional" market will never get better and the growth into the career path is only limited by keeping jets at the regional level. The -900 is roughly the size of the DC-9-10. Look into the differences in pay and work rules. Do not just look at hourly rates, look into the pension/retirement/QOL that "in theory" goes along with being at mainline vs. a regional.

The more airplanes that mainline flys (small or big) the more mainline jobs there are. So the smaller the regionals are the better a chance for a career job. The perfect time was when the regionals flew nothing but small turbo props and you went from that into a 64-100 seat mainline airplane (DC-9, F-28). The bigger we see the regionals grow the more time we have to spend working for peanuts to get a mainline job.

From what I have heard alot of the Majors have rules governing how many seats a regional can fly and operate for them. Is this not true or are there just some that do and some that dont. I guess republic and shuttle are on the **** list with you guys then seeing as there whole fleet are these new e-jets.

I agree, but an 'official' recession is based off of government numbers...and they've been fudging the numbers for quite some time if you ask me.
Inflation at 3%??? BS! The cost of almost everything I've bought or want to buy has gone up a hell of alot more than 3% a year. Not just the big things either (like education, health care, cars, housing) but the little things as well (like food).
