your predictions on a merged DAL/NWA regional fleet

Right now the future for 34 seat turboprops is very good, especially those Saabs at Mesaba. They will around for at least into the next several years because Saabs are very cheap to operate and they generate money. If you fly 34 seat turboprops, you are sitting pretty.

I think the only likely scenario for possible furloughs at NWA following a merger is if a decision is made to immediately park the -9's. Not too likely to happen right away, in my opinion, as any merger would take a significant amount of time to work through.
As for flowback to Compass, it was mentioned on a different thread that up to 90% of pilots on the Compass seniority list can be bumped by NWA pilots flowing back. A friend of mine who works at Compass pretty much agrees with that thought, but he believes it could even be a total replacement, not just 90%.

can probably kiss 1/3 to 1/2 the 50 seat flying good bye.
PNCL has 133 crj200s
CMR has 136 crj200s
ASA has 108 crj200s
CHQ has 22 e145s
FRDM has 36 e145s
SKW has 56 crj200s
XJT has 21 erj145s
do the math

I think if DAL/NWA merge, the Compass and Mesaba pilots might have a little to worry about. The "flowback" and all.
I am going to dig into NWA's contract a little more. That's another reason I am leaning toward NWA (if offered). IF the poop hits the fan, at least I could flowback into the left seat of an RJ, keep my seniority number at the LARGEST airline, and make more than I would as a first year FO there. No street for me?

One thing to keep in mind is that Compass is only planning to be 360 pilots deep. In other words if more than 360 pilots get f’d from NWA, the ones in excess of 360 will be hitting the streets. 360 pilots aint that much of a cushion.
