Default jumpseat with no passport

hey i just sent my passport in to get renewed as it expires in 2 months so i am currently with no passport. i really only need it for CASS so that means if I have all my other docs I can still take a seat in the back if one is available, right?

I've never been asked to show a passport while jumpseating, FWIW.

If I am going to have to ride in the front, UAL has ALWAYS asked me for it. If there are seats in the back, I usually don't get asked for it.

Since I am flying in the United system I never get asked by them for my passport. However American always asks for it when I travel through ORD, DFW, or LAX and Frontier has as well in DEN. Allegiant has never asked for it in Vegas yet. Though are just my experiences I have come across so far. I really don't know what would happen if you didn't have it with you. If it means you can only sit in the back I would be screwed with out it since I sit in the actual far more than I get a seat in the back. Loads between ORD, LAX, SFO, and LAS always suck when I am jumpseating!

Delta/Delta Conx requires only if you're in front. Deltamatic(Delta's above-wing system) is programmed to automatically put you on the non-rev list if it was not verified by agent.

If you are on the 120, I'm assuming you are SktWest/UAX? Before there was CASS, if you worked for the codeshare/Express/Connection/Airlink of the major, you could occupy the jumpseat on said carrier. Showing them your ID, they were able to electronically verify where you worked as you were in their system for non-rev/DH purposes. When I commuted on CAL (I'm XJT) and had to ride in the front, they also didn't ask for my passport, I'm guessing for the same reason.

You would be correct on all accounts there. Since I am in the United system I they can electronically verfiy me and its real easy for me and the gate agent as long as the know the correct airline code. It all takes about 15 seconds. I have never tried the Delta side but I don't fly any of their connection flights. Good night all, need some sleep to battle the Santa Anna winds again tomorrow in SoCal. IYK should be a fun flight!
