Contracts are handed out on the first or second day of class. All books you receive from AE are property of AE. So that means if you leave the company, you must return the contract, FM1, FM2, AOM, etc. Unless someone scanned all 650 or so pages and posted them online, you probably won't find it anywhere. Sorry

Actually, the contract is yours to keep. The company will lay claims on the rest of the books, but the ALPA junk is yours forever and ever.

Yeah, its something else huh. If your in BOS I would plan on 30-60hrs a month. My record low for a month in BOS on rsv is 17hrs of flying. It seems reserves are flown to the breaking point in ORD and DFW. Wouldn't plan on that in BOS and LGA. Unless they send you to ORD. Seems like during transition time(last few days of the month and first few days of the next month) they have melt down and thats when capts end up sitting right seat. In between its pretty quite.

Is anyone willing to shed some light into what reserve is like in Dallas? Ive heard on the jets you can be on reserve for about 12 months, the Saab is like 1-2 months.

How often do the ERJ and CRJ drivers get DH'd to other cities to pick up trips?

SF3, ERJ and CRJ info would be awesome!

A friend of mine was hired in November into the Saab in DFW. He now holds a composite line which is like one step below a hard line. 3 months. Probably 4 before he holds a hard line.

ERJ reserve is variable, like everything else. 7-12 months is my most current hearsay. (I'm at the flight academy, so I'd like to think the rumors here are top notch:D).

CRJ reserve is another animal altogether! I don't even want to approach that.

All I've heard of is guys getting Junior manned or DHed to Chicago out of BOS to pick up extra flying. I'm sure it occurs everywhere else though:confused:. Just not as often. Hope this helps...

I'm curious about "CRJ reserve is another animal altogether..." Can I talk you into approaching it and elaborating?

Just curious, what were people assigned in your class? How many Saab, ERJ, CRJ?

Sure, what I mean is, a) good luck getting into it if you're young. It's the most senior aircraft in the fleet, and b) I've heard so many different numbers regarding the reserve time all over that I really can't help you. Maybe someone else can provide accurate #'s if they are based somewhere with the CRJ.
In our class, 5 Saab DFW; [20 ERJ -- ORD(8), DFW(5), BOS/LGA(7)] I really can't remember if LGA flies the ERJ or not, my bad. and 2 CRJ DFW. There were no CRJ availabilities this time or last class in ORD.

Reserve on the EMB in Dallas is well over a year. Since Dallas is so senior I’m sure it won't be going down for any time soon.
