The shareholder had not choice. Since it owns more than 5% of common stock it had to be filed publicly, per SEC rules. I dont know what will come of this, a merger with SKW will surely not be the end of things. It brings two huge regionals together, combining contracts etc.....however. I dont think XJT has gasped its final breath. Branded is new, the year is young, I think people need to stop burying us before were dead. Everybody goes through rough times, it is just nice to see the that the pilot group has not given up.

There will not be a merger or any type of buyout without CAL's approval, in addition to any other government red tape associated with such. This was just a public statement taken way out of context.

Since she posed for Playboy, her name is public knowledge, so I don't have any reservations asking ………………. what's her name? Is it N.W., Playmate May 04?

Anyone know when the leases are up on XJT's AC? Everyone at Skywest has been trying to figure out why we would want XJT with all those EMB's, but if they don't own them and we wouldn't get stuck with a bunch of AC that will be obsolete in a few years then I could see us buying them. Just curious. BTW, this is not meant as a flame, after reading my post I figured I might get hammered for it. That's my disclaimer.
'Media reports said SkyWest Chief Financial Officer Brad Rich responded to the letter by saying Skywest is open to acquiring smaller carriers like ExpressJet.'

'SkyWest Inc., cited by an ExpressJet Holdings Inc. investor as a possible merger partner for the rival regional airline, is considering acquisitions as a way to grow, according to SkyWest's chief financial officer Brad Rich. As SkyWest seeks to expand, new contract opportunities from larger carriers have "kind of slowed down of late," Rich said in an interview Wednesday. "So one alternative is to look for ways to grow through acquisitions."
ExpressJet "would be just one opportunity we see," Rich said, declining to name other potential targets for the St. George-based airline.'

This thread is funny. Trust me, considering that nobody is jumping ship to other regionals from XJT right now, nobody who actually works here feels that we're "going under." Some of you RAH and SKW guys act like a bunch of vultures circling over someone dying in the desert, all based on assumptions and rumors started on a webboard.

No one has said you're going under or that people are jumping ship. What I find funny is that if you quote the media then you're discredited because you're quoting the media. If you quote documents listed by major share holders it's not factual somehow. If you trust in anything other pilots have said then you're a fool. However you'll never hesitate to use one of the sources when it favors your argument. I don't think there's a single person that's said anything against the company per say or the pilot group. Just about everyone thinks it's a great company. Don't get ****y when people talk about factual information. Management runs companies not the pilots so get over it. The topic is about a major shareholder wanting XJT to sell. There's no reason people should get bashed for talking about the subject. The funny thing is how many of you get offended by a completely reasonable discussion.

Unless someone specifically points out the pilot group then there's no reason for the pilot group to feel as if they are being picked on. Saying XJT means XJT, not the pilots. Saying management means management, not the pilots. Talking about the company's finances is talking about the company's finances, not the pilots. What I'm sick of is if you speak of the company, the management, the finances, or what the weather's doing by one of their bases people on here take it personal. The only instances I've seen where things have gotten out of hand are when XJT pilots, notice how they are addressed specifically now, seem to think any statement of any kind is about them and they take it personal where the first thing they do is make a quick jab retaliation remark. Someone could say how they don't like the paint job management picked and I'll bet 3:1 that someone on here will get upset and pound their fists on the ground in a tantrum then make a stab at the actual person him/herself like that person just walked over their grave.

Its more like this..."Your mother is a fat disgusting ***** and your dad is a worthless drunk"... Fact: your mom is somewhat over weight as defined by the Center for Size Zero Women (CSZW). She was sighted by the World News Daily having lunch with a man that was not her husband. Your father got a DUI last Dec 24th and was not seen at work for the last 10 days. Those are just the facts.. right? You should'nt be upset, I'm only discussing commonly known facts about two individuals that you are related to...Not You! Ripping on anyone's company without having a total command of the facts looks like an attack. It may not be one, but diss'in someones company may be taken that way. I hope you can see the difference without further personal attacks.
