Default Newest Skywest Rumor

Disclaimer:This isn't meant to start any crap, get people riled up, or talk down to any pilot of any airline....

I heard from some sim instructors that apparently attend management meetings that Skywest may be buying Mesa as they approach bankruptcy. Rumor had it that the mesa pilots would be stapled to the skywest seniority group but would continue to be paid at their mesa seniority. They also said that this is the reason that the classes have been canceled as to make way for Mesa pilots. Anyone else hear this? Would it make sense to do? Wavit you hear anything like this floating around the training dept?

If SkyWest were to purchase Mesa, I would imagine they would operate them seperately.

I think Mesa is ALPA, so stapling their seniority at the bottom of the list won't happen anymore with the new law that just passed about airline mergers.

Why would SKW buy Mesa?
Why would mesa pilots keep their current pay?
Why not keep it all differnet like ASA and SKW?

Fly safe out there. So much fun in ORD today

As a Mesa guy, this seems plausible at least from our end.

Since I've been here (nearly 2 years) I have heard that SKW would love to get their hands on our flying as it would give them a huge market share of UA flying, and another chunk of Delta.

God knows SKW has the $, our stock was down almost a quarter today, to $3 and change.

I just hope it wouldn't adversely affect those of us on the cusp of upgrade.

What I ride it could, and will be.

What a mess that would be: three different certificates, hunk of different airframes.

So the existing Mesa CAs would be CAs below the existing SKYW FOs?

But, hold on...wooo hooo, a Phoenix base!
