Kind of a presumptuous thing to say, don't you think?

At any rate, I'd look into a frac. I don't have the time for NJA, but I'd be looking more along the lines of Avantair and the like.

I'd be a bum. I wouldn't have to shave everyday and I'd probably make more money pan handling. I call that win win!

Why would you say that? You think SKW holds all the cards in the regional industry. Not hardly.

I'd probably instruct for fun, crop dust, stick with investing, fish/hunt guide, or work in the corporate world. I'd try to get a job flying somewhere else but not at a regional. Only stopping by this place once. If I couldn't fly professionally then I'd also just look at getting a "real" job. It's very possible I'd just own my own business. No reason everyone should sell themselves short. Most of us have degrees and with a little working on the resume getting jobs elsewhere shouldn't be that hard.

Educated
People skills
goal oriented
team player
knows how to utilize resources
works well under pressure
isn't afraid to travel
culturally diverse

You can make the list go on and on. All you have to do is bend this daily life threatening job of yours to beat the competition. I mean the only reason we'd even be alive to apply for this new job is because of our amazing, unparalleled, abilities that no Joe with a marketing degree possesses. They don't have to know about the autopilot stuff

Towel Boy at the Mustang Ranch................

Proably go try and find a corporate gig.

Then when I really have enough money I'm going to buy a 70' scooner and head to Fiji with a bunch of naked island girls...........

I'd teach at a university and get my PhD. Either that or quit doing the weekend warrior act and make it a full time gig.

But we all don't have to worry about the airlines going under. After all, we work in the most stable industry in America!

Good luck to you guys who think that a corp. flying gig is stable-hahahahaha. Ive been lucky enought to be sold with the aircraft that I fly but have alot of my borthers in the industry have not been so lucky. There job lists take up a whole page of a resume... When things go bad in the Corp. world there are three things that people get rid of first #1 that jet, #2 that yacht, #3 the girlfriends. well anyways you guys who think there is this stability in Corp. flying need to go try it for a while-Im trying to get out of that rat race as we speak..

This buisness of 121 flying is going not going anywhere bottom line people in this country have to fly-and very few have the ability to have there own airplane

If your company does happen to go under I feel sorry for you but the Corp. world is not all ways the greenest.

I just recently got back from 3 weeks off. I had a half dozen doctor appointments, two neurologist visits, and a medical in jeopardy.

My first flight back after getting the A-OK I had a smile stretching from one side of my face to another. There really isn't anything else I'd rather be doing at this point.

I used to say I hated to go to work. I wanted to sit at home all day. My outlook has changed tremendously and I now feel privileged to just be allowed to do what I do. I don't know how long I will feel this way but hopefully for a long time.

I guess what I'm trying to say is a lot of people will say they want to "get out" but I bet the majority will find themselves right back in the left seat as quick as they can get back in it.

There is money to be made in this industry. You can slowly go up the pay scale the lazy way getting a job with a union carrier or you can go out and pay your dues, acquire experience and type ratings, and network your butt off for your dream job.

To sum it up, if my company went under, I'd take a look at where I wanted to end up and tailor a job track for that. Maybe that means taking a step back and flying freight. Maybe that means taking a pay cut to be an SIC at a small fractional. Who knows. But god-willing, if I'm able to hold a 1st class medical, I'll be flying.
