ASA is likely your best bet. HOWEVER, most new hires are going to the CRJ700 where the reserve will run you at least 1 year. The CRJ200 will give you better QOL if you are senior enough in you class to get it. If so, expect to be on reserve for 2-3 months. After that, you will rack up about 80 hours of block time per month. You will probably have an easier commute from MIA to ATL. Good luck!

Is Comair sticking to their ATP written requirement or are they hiring people without it?

A year and a half ago they were not requiring the ATP. But hiring has slowed greatly, and the market has a few more pilots to choose from, so they might have brought it back.

They say it is required and you have to have it before you start ground school. I never got asked for it. Nobody every looked at it or made a copy of it.

They looked at and made a copy of mine at the interview. I have no idea what happens with it next.

As far as ASA or Comair, realize this, many people think the regionals are just a stepping stone to something better. And for many people that has held true, but the way things are going, you should also look at the "what if" I'm here for a very long time.

Also....if you plan to try and move on to Big D....it will be much more difficult coming from Comair......

I start class 4.21 and it was a non-issue that I haven't taken it... They didn't even say that I needed to anytime soon.

Care to explain why that is?

Actually, I've heard DL has picked up some people from OH that haven't been around during the strike.

Oh! Because the whole strike thing... that's dumb, especially if you started post strike.

I know some have been hired but ASA has about a 10:1 ratio. Both companies seem to be losing just as many pilots per month.

Just something to consider if DL is the ultimate dream for the origninal poster.
