Werent you the pilot that did that to me in the Herc when I was a paratrooper at Bragg? Lol Yeah, u r right. Don't burn up the rw for the perfect landing. Bad technique.

Paratrooper?? Why are you concerned about landings? You shouldn't even still be in the airplane!!!:D

Sorry, just couldn't resist the irony

One passenger made a comment when deplaning. Feeling pretty bad about this, anyone had the same thing happen? I know no one will fly perfect all the time, but man, that was terrible.

"A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great' landing is one after which they can use the plane again."

I am sure yours was the first one

I've made more than my fair share. And of course they garner smart ass remarks from the wal mart shoppers in back. Two times, they were really insulting, and those two times I responded in kind. One reply was "You get what you pay for, now you'll remember to tip next time!", then the other "I'd like to see you try it!". I used to try to grease 'em on, anymore though I couldn't care less as long as nothing is dangling by only a wire afterwards.

If a pax says something about it just point to your partner and say, "It wasn't his fault and it wasn't my fault. It must have been the asphalt."

Happened to me 3 months ago... Capt called me out told the passengers that i promised a smooth landing. I tried to flare but was trying to make it slow and smooth so not to float... well... I was too slow and then BANG!!! Capt was laughing his butt off and told me to go say thank you to the passengers as they disembarked. Had all kinda comments, one guy said "great landing but next time ask your company to use rubber wheels instead of wooden ones. Another came up shook my hand said he was a retired airline pilot and knows what it is like when a Capt throws you under the gun. It was our last leg on the trip and when I was walking through the terminal to commute home I had other passengers come up to me from our flight and make more comments. One week later, again as I was getting on a plane to go home, a passenger in 1st class saw me and said "hey! arnt you the one that flew into ATL from (I don't remember where now) and had that hard landing when the capt said you promised a soft one!?" I just smiled and said yes.
